Membership in the Association consists of :
- Active
- Inactive
- Associate
- Student
- Honorary and
- Candidate Members.
A definition of each can be found in the Constitution and By-Laws of MTANS
The qualifications required to be an active member are:
A member in good standing of the College of Registered Massage Therapists of BC and/or the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and/or the Newfoundland & Labrador Massage Therapists' Board
OR
Is not a member of one of the aforementioned Colleges/Board but is a graduate of a minimum 2200 hour program in massage therapy, encompassing the minimum standard of education as established by the Canadian Massage Therapist Alliance, from a university, college or school, regulated or licensed by the respective educational authority of the province or territory of the institution;
OR
Has satisfied the MTANS Board that the applicant's educational qualifications are substantially equivalent to the aforementioned 2200 hour minimum standard;
AND
Has a current certification in CPR and First Aid.
The annual dues for 2006 are:
ctive Member $400 ( which includes MTANS dues, professional liability insurance, a Massage Therapy magazine subscription and CMTA dues)
Student Member $67.50
Associate or Inactive Member $100.00
